Brimbank. Made for Business
The Brief
Brimbank City Council went through a tender process to make a number of investment attraction videos. They wanted three testimonial videos, interviews with business owners already located in Brimbank, and an overview video about the municipality. They also wanted them in a variety of aspect ratios for social media as well as their website, and in Vietnamese - captions and dubbed voice over.
Our Solution
We tendered for the work, having made similar videos for Wyndham and Hume councils in the past. After some back and forth with questions about our approach, we were pleased to win the tender.
We commenced with a discovery meeting and Council introduced the business owners we would film so we could set up appointments to film the interviews.
We spent three days filming various assets around the municipality (from swimming pools, to freeways, to hospitals, Council offices, shopping centres, parks and so on). It was made easier that Keith rides a motorbike. We planned routes to be most efficient and picked filming days with good weather. The shots of the festivals were provided by Council.
The project did end up taking more time to complete than expected, but it was a lot of fun. The Council wanted more footage of the municipality than expected and finding a great Vietnamese voice over artist who could also pronounce the English place names well was challenging.
The Outcome
The final set of videos included the three testimonials which were cut down to about 1 minute each and had Broll footage from the business being interviewed. There was a Feature or overview video about the area, of around 3 minutes length, and we made shorter hightlight video of 1 minute length which you see here. All these were dubbed and had captions in Vietnamese as well as English and were made in vertical, square and two horizontal aspect ratios.
The Council has used the videos on Linkedin and to target Vietnamese investors in particular.
If you've got a program or initiative in Melbourne to show and explain, lets discuss some options.
